Eastern India is located along the Bay of Bengal and Calcutta is the largest city in this region. West Bengal is rich in sights and attractions – imperial palaces, forts, temples, bazaars, museums and antique miniature trains. This area is a popular destination for golf as it has very good infrastructure for this sport. In the area of Assam known for its tea plantations, there are few natural parks, inhabited by endangered species such as the Asian elephant, tiger and the Indian rhino. Kaziranga and Manas National Parks are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Andaman Islands, are on of the most popular beach destinations in the Bay of Bengal.
